Liana Jank is an agronomist from the University of São Paulo (1982) with a Master of Science degree from the University of Florida (1982) in Pasture management and a PhD also from the University of Florida (2000) in Forage Breeding. She is a researcher at Embrapa Beef Cattle (Brazilian Research Corporation) since 1982 in Campo Grande, MS, Brazil. Since 1987 she is the leader of the program for the development of Panicum maximum cultivars, which resulted in the release of the cultivars Tanzania, Mombaça, Massai, BRS Zuri, BRS Quênia and BRS Tamani. She is also the curator of the P. maximum germplasm bank of Embrapa and until this year, the leader of the project of forage germplasm banks of Embrapa. She is a scholar in Techonological Development Productivity with the National Council of Scientific and Technological Development of Brazil and is the International Affairs Advisor for Embrapa Beef Cattle.
