Dr. Jonathan Davies is the Senior Agriculture Advisor and the Coordinator of the Global Drylands Programme at IUCN, the International Union for Conservation of Nature. He is responsible for IUCN?s work on agriculture & conservation and sustainable rangeland management & restoration, through projects on the ground in Africa and Asia as well as through global policy engagement. He specializes in rangeland policy and governance, ecological restoration, and sustainable food and agriculture systems. He leads IUCN?s engagement in the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, represents IUCN on the UNCCD Science Policy Interface, and leads IUCN’s work on Land Degradation Neutrality target setting in 75 countries. Jonathan was a lead author on the IPBES Land Degradation and Restoration Assessment. He holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics and has 25 years experience working in the fields of sustainable agriculture, livestock development, sustainable pastoralism and conservation of rangelands.
